Originally used as the main basketball court flooring system in Charlotte, measuring 60 feet wide and 120 feet long. The floor is stored on 15 portable dollies that are included with the flooring system. Other events that have utilized this floor include but are not limited to ACC and NCAA tournaments.
A little history about the Coliseum and where this floor originated from; The Bojangles Coliseum was opened and dedicated in 1955 as the Charlotte Coliseum. At the time it was the largest unsupported steel dome in the world. After the new Charlotte Coliseum opened in 1988, the name was changed to Independence Arena (named for its location on Independence Boulevard in Charlotte) and underwent an extensive renovation. In 2001 the arena was renamed the Cricket Arena in a naming rights arrangement with Cricket Communications. In 2008 Bojangles Restaurants, Inc. bought the naming rights.
As the old Charlotte Coliseum it was a site for home games for the Carolina Cougars of the American Basketball Association from 1969 through 1974. The Coliseum also hosted the ACC men's basketball tournament from 1968-1970, the Southern Conference men's basketball tournament from 1964-1971 (and again in 2010, for the first three days of the tournament), and was the site of the Sun Belt Conference men’s basketball tournament from 1977 through 1980. Additionally, it hosted the Charlotte 49ers from 1976 until 1988, and again from 1993 through 1996.
The flooring system is a 'colletors item' as the saying goes. Given this fact, the flooring system is in top condition as if it were just laid in the Coliseum for the first time. The portable flooring system can be used for any purpose, including Church's, Gyms, Karate Domes, Multi-Sport Game Courts, Wrestling Base (mats not included). The flooring system could even be installed into Hotels, Restaurants and as Dance Floors. The uses are endless and left to your imagination. Use it as a permanent floor.
We are selling this for a fraction of the cost as this floor would normally cost you over $100,000.00!! The Flooring System comes complete with mobile carts for moving during assembly and dis-assembly. Additionally the Flooring System can be stored on the carts and the carts can be double stacked to maximize space in your storage facility.
Total size of the Flooring System is 7,200 square feet (at $32000, its less than $4.8 per square foot!!) You can't buy quality flooring anywhere and install it for anything close to that! |
